Travelwho?

When I first learned about Travelzoo in college, I suggested one of their Caribbean packages to my roommate Andrea. She was planning a trip to Jamaica with her boyfriend and didn’t know where to start. The package was a great deal but she was skeptical about dealing with a company called Travelzoo.

Fast forward a decade (omg that makes me sound OLD), and Travelzoo is pretty much a household name. At least in my household, and as a disclaimer, I learned about it my freshman year in college (making me less old than you might think). I still subscribe to their Top 20 Weekly Updates, which you should sign up for if you aren’t already. Let’s just say that 22 million subscribers are not wrong.

Travelzoo also does this thing called Newsflash, where they’ll send out an email (this only happens occasionally, not enough to bother you) if a flight/hotel/vacation package crops up in your city that is realllly newsworthy. Again, act FAST. Faster than the 22 million other people who are jumping on that deal.

Example: I got a Newsflash last month that flights from LA to London were in the $450 range roundtrip. A few days later they sold out. My friend in NYC got a Newsflash that flights from NY to Barcelona were $218! She read the email 3 HOURS after it had been sent out and the fares were sold out.

You’ve been warned.
